The imported feeds shall come from the registered overseas manufacturers. If a kind of product is the first application from the exporting country, the competent departments of the two countries shall sign the related agreements of sanitation and the inspection and quarantine of animal and plant. The validity of the registration is 5 years. The overseas manufacturers shall propose the renewal registration to GACC, six months prior to expiry of the registration. And postpone another 5 years.

The overseas feed (pet food) manufacturers shall comply with the relevant requirements of laws, regulations and standards of the exporting countries or regions, and in accordance with equivalent requirements of Chinese related laws, regulations and standards. After passing the review by the feed competent department in the exporting countries or regions, the feed competent department assists to submit the application documents to GACC by the recommendation of the exporting country embassy in China.
